How to choose the right sensor?

Sensor types

Currently, there are three types of sensors on the market:

•  Infrared;
•  Electromagnetic;
•  Ultrasound.

We do not recommend the use of the first type, because they often do not react in presence of water and other contaminants, which would lead to incorrect counting and, hence, to the appearance of undesirable situations.

The most commonly used are the ultrasound elements, which are characterized by the emission of a specific ultrasound beam with a range of 1.5 to 2 m. When an object enters within this range, the beam is reflected back into the device and it responds by sending signals to the driver. Another useful feature is that these modules are 'able' to calculate the distance and show you exactly how many centimeters away is the obstacle. As the car gets closer to it, the signal becomes more common.
